(NASB)

There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of comforting one another, as mentioned in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 and 5:11. For example, Encouragement and Support: In Deuteronomy 1:38, Moses is instructed to encourage Joshua, his successor, to lead the people into the Promised Land. This act of encouragement is a form of comfort and support. Community Responsibility: Leviticus 19:18 states, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” This commandment emphasizes the importance of caring for and supporting one another within the community. Comforting the Bereaved: In Genesis 50:21, Joseph comforts his brothers after the death of their father, Joseph, saying, “So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” This act of reassurance and provision is a form of comfort. These examples show that the Torah encourages acts of comfort, support, and encouragement within the community, similar to the message in 1 Thessalonians 4:18 and 5:11.
