(NASB)

There are parallels in the Torah to the concept of commanding men to be blameless. The Hebrew term “tamim” (תָּמִים), means blameless, wholehearted, or perfect, is used in several instances to describe the ideal behavior expected of individuals. See Genesis 6:9, 17:1, and Deuteronomy 18:13. In these passages we are told how men were commanded to be blameless, and in Deuteronomy the Israel was instructed to “be blameless before the Lord your God” (תָּמִים תִּהְיֶה עִם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ). This verse underscores the expectation of living a life in accordance with God’s commandments and maintaining purity. These examples from the Torah are consistent with the NT directive to strive for blamelessness and integrity in one’s conduct.
