The concept of patience and treating others with kindness and understanding is deeply rooted in Jewish tradition, including the Torah. The Hebrew term often associated with patience is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cerech apayim\u201d<\/em><\/span> (\u05d0\u05b6\u05e8\u05b6\u05da\u05b0 \u05d0\u05b7\u05e4\u05b7\u05bc\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd ) which translates to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201clong-suffering\u201d<\/em><\/span> or <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cslow to anger.\u201d<\/em><\/span> God\u2019s character is described as being <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cslow to anger\u201d<\/em><\/span> (Exodus 34:6, Numbers 14:18). The Torah encourages humans to emulate this quality by being patient and compassionate toward others. There are many other ways the Torah emphasizes being patient with others, here God is our example.
