(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Here Paul warns against <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cfoolish controversies&#8221;<\/em><\/span> in Titus 3:9. He says avoid debates and discussions that are divisive and do not promote spiritual growth or unity within the community. These controversies are described as <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cunprofitable and worthless\u201d<\/em><\/span> because they distract from the core message of truth and can lead to quarrels rather than building each other up. The Torah emphasizes the importance of maintaining peace and unity. For example, Leviticus 19:18 instructs, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>\u201cYou shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord.\u201d<\/em><\/span> This commandment encourages harmonious relationships, which can be disrupted by engaging in pointless disputes.
