(NASB) <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Here in Hebrews 5:5 the author quotes Psalms 2:7 the author of Hebrews states that the Messiah did not need to glorify himself to become a high priest. The point is that He is the Son of God, so He is near God our Father because He is God\u2019s Son! Being the Son of God has greater privileges than the high priest. The Author of Hebrews is using the Torah to emphasize the position of the Messiah Yeshua in relation to the high priest.
