{"id":2014,"date":"2013-01-27T12:35:16","date_gmt":"2013-01-27T12:35:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matsati.com\/?p=2014"},"modified":"2013-01-27T12:35:16","modified_gmt":"2013-01-27T12:35:16","slug":"bits-of-torah-truths-parashat-yitro-why-does-god-allow-sin-to-continue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/bits-of-torah-truths-parashat-yitro-why-does-god-allow-sin-to-continue\/","title":{"rendered":"Bits of Torah Truths, Parashat Yitro, Why does God allow sin to continue?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This weeks reading is from Parashat Yitro (<em>Shemot \/ Exodus 18:1-20:23<\/em>), the Scripture portion this week tells us that Yitro (<em>Moshe\u2019s father in law<\/em>) arrived bringing Moshe\u2019s wife Zipporah and his two sons, Gershom and Eleazar (<em>18:1-3<\/em>).\u00a0 Moshe told Yitro everything the Lord had done and Yitro said <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d9\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b9\u05d0\u05de\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d9\u05b4\u05ea\u05b0\u05e8\u05d5\u05b9 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05da\u05b0 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d4\u05b4\u05e6\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05dc \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea\u05b0\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05bc\u05b7\u05d3 \u05de\u05b4\u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05bc\u05b7\u05d3 \u05e4\u05bc\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05e2\u05b9\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d4\u05b4\u05e6\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05dc \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d4\u05b8\u05e2\u05b8\u05dd \u05de\u05b4\u05ea\u05bc\u05b7\u05d7\u05b7\u05ea \u05d9\u05b7\u05d3-\u05de\u05b4\u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b8\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd:<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 <em>18:10 So Jethro said, \u2018Blessed be the Lord who delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians and from the hand of Pharaoh, and who delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians. (NASB)<\/em>\u00a0 Moshe\u2019s father in law praised the Name of the Lord, and then they make an offering to the Lord and sit down to eat before God (<em>18:12<\/em>).\u00a0 The next day, Yitro saw all that Moshe was doing for the people and recommended that Moshe select leaders from the people as judges so that only the heavy matters Moshe would judge (<em>18:13-26<\/em>).\u00a0 In the third month leaving Egypt, the people arrive at the wilderness of Sinai (<em>18:26-19:1<\/em>).\u00a0 Lord told Moshe, have the people consecrate themselves because in three days the Lord will come down to speak with them (<em>19:7-16<\/em>).\u00a0 The Lord warned not to break through and gaze so they would not die (<em>19:24-25<\/em>) and God called Moshe and Aharon to come up on the mountain.\u00a0 The reading this week concludes with the Lord giving Moshe and the people His ten commandments (<em>Shemot \/ Exodus 20:1-19<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05db\u05ea\u05d1\u05d9 \u05d4\u05e7\u05d5\u05d3\u05e9 \/ The Holy Scriptures<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right; indeed, it was proven when they dealt proudly against the people.\u2019\u00a0 18:12 Then Jethro, Moses&#8217; father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God, and Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat a meal with Moses&#8217; father-in-law before God. (NASB)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Scriptures say that Moshe told Yitro all the hardships that had befallen them on the journey and all the Lord had done for Israel\u2019s sake.\u00a0 Thinking on the land of slavery and God\u2019s deliverance, do you ever wondered why God allows sin in this world?\u00a0 Have you ever asked the Lord to keep you from sin and you turn around and sin again after asking for help?\u00a0 Yitro heard of the hardships of Israel, all of the sin of Egypt, and all the Lord had done for Moshe in the deliverance of Israel from bondage.\u00a0 Hearing these things Yitro gave praise to the Lord saying <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05d1\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05d5\u05bc\u05da\u05b0 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d4\u05b4\u05e6\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05dc \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea\u05b0\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05bc\u05b7\u05d3 \u05de\u05b4\u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd<\/span> <em>\u201cBlessed is the Lord that delivered you from the hand of the Egyptians\u201d<\/em> (<em>18:10<\/em>).\u00a0 Follow the sequence of events here, Yitro arrived (<em>18:1-3<\/em>), Moshe told him of all God had done (<em>18:8<\/em>), Yitro praised God (<em>18:10<\/em>), then they offered Sacrifices to the Lord and sit down to have a meal together at peace (<em>18:12<\/em>).\u00a0 Because of what God had done, Yitro said <span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u05e2\u05b7\u05ea\u05bc\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d9\u05b8\u05d3\u05b7\u05e2\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9-\u05d2\u05b8\u05d3\u05d5\u05b9\u05dc \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05b8\u05d4 \u05de\u05b4\u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd<\/span> <em>\u201cNow I know that God is greater than all other gods.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0 The Apostle Paul said the Torah is a tutor or teacher in <em>Galatians 3:24 \u1f65\u03c3\u03c4\u03b5 \u1f41 \u03bd\u1f79\u03bc\u03bf\u03c2 \u03c0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03b1\u03b3\u03c9\u03b3\u1f78\u03c2 \u1f21\u03bc\u1ff6\u03bd \u03b3\u1f73\u03b3\u03bf\u03bd\u03b5\u03bd \u03b5\u1f30\u03c2 \u03a7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u1f79\u03bd, \u1f35\u03bd\u03b1 \u1f10\u03ba \u03c0\u1f77\u03c3\u03c4\u03b5\u03c9\u03c2 \u03b4\u03b9\u03ba\u03b1\u03b9\u03c9\u03b8\u1ff6\u03bc\u03b5\u03bd: 3:24 Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith.
