Bereshit \/ Genesis 28:6-9<\/strong><\/em>
\n28:16 Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said, \u2018Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.\u2019\u00a0 28:17 He was afraid and said, \u2018How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.\u2019\u00a0 28:18 So Jacob rose early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on its top.\u00a0 28:19 He called the name of that place Bethel; however, previously the name of the city had been Luz.\u00a0 28:20 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, \u2018If God will be with me and will keep me on this journey that I take, and will give me food to eat and garments to wear,<\/em> 28:21 and I return to my father’s house in safety, then the Lord will be my God. Jacob awoke from his sleep and said \u201cSurely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it\u201d (\u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05e7\u05b7\u05e5 \u05d9\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05e7\u05b9\u05d1 \u05de\u05b4\u05e9\u05bc\u05c1\u05b0\u05e0\u05b8\u05ea\u05d5\u05b9 \u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b9\u05d0\u05de\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d0\u05b8\u05db\u05b5\u05df \u05d9\u05b5\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05b9\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05de\u05bc\u05b8\u05e7\u05d5\u05b9\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05d6\u05bc\u05b6\u05d4 \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b8\u05e0\u05b9\u05db\u05b4\u05d9 \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05d9\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05e2\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9<\/span>).\u00a0 According to the Scriptures, Jacob did not know the Lord was with him until this moment in his life.\u00a0 The Lord gave him a promise that He is going to work mightily in his life so much so that in his descendents all of the families of the earth with be blessed (\u05d5\u05b0\u05e0\u05b4\u05d1\u05b0\u05e8\u05b0\u05db\u05d5\u05bc<\/span>).\u00a0 Throughout this week\u2019s Parasha, the Lord works in the background, through the birth of Jacob\u2019s children and in the blessing of wealth in livestock and possessions.\u00a0 As in that time, so it is to today, the Lord may be working in the background in ways we are unaware of.\u00a0 The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 8:26-28<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Romans 8:26-28<\/em>
\n8:26 In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; 8:27 and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.\u00a0 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NASB)<\/em><\/p>\n

Because God is working in the background, at many times we do not know how to pray as we should, however, we are told that the Holy Spirit of God will intercede on our behalf as the Lord searches our hearts and our needs through prayer.\u00a0 At times we may not know the reasons why things happen the way they do, but like in Jacob\u2019s life, we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28<\/em>) in Yeshua the Messiah!\u00a0 BTT_Parashat Vayetze-2012<\/a> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
