{"id":1150,"date":"2011-01-16T14:29:00","date_gmt":"2011-01-16T14:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matsati.com\/bblog2\/client\/index.cfm\/2011\/1\/16\/Parashat-Yitro-Seeking-and-Listening-to-Wise-Counsel"},"modified":"2012-09-29T16:18:49","modified_gmt":"2012-09-29T16:18:49","slug":"parashat-yitro-seeking-and-listening-to-wise-counsel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/parashat-yitro-seeking-and-listening-to-wise-counsel\/","title":{"rendered":"Parashat Yitro, Seeking and Listening to Wise Counsel."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<!-- Place some text here to wrap near image --><\/p>\n<p>In this week&rsquo;s reading, <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Shemot \/ Exodus 18:1-27<\/em><\/font>,<br \/>\nMoshe takes the responsibility of solving all the people&rsquo;s problems.&nbsp; Jethro, Moshe&rsquo;s<br \/>\nfather-in-law, sees how this is affecting Moshe and the people and offers wise counsel to Moshe on the<br \/>\nmatter.&nbsp; <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Shemot \/ Exodus 18:17 Moses&#8217; father-in-law said to him,<br \/>\n&lsquo;The thing that you are doing is not good.&nbsp; 18:18 &lsquo;You will surely wear out, both yourself<br \/>\nand these people who are with you, for the task is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.&nbsp; 18:19<br \/>\n&lsquo;Now listen to me: I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You be the people&#8217;s representative<br \/>\nbefore God, and you bring the disputes to God, 18:20 then teach them the statutes and the laws, and make<br \/>\nknown to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.&nbsp; 18:21 &lsquo;Furthermore,<br \/>\nyou shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain;<br \/>\nand you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties and of tens.&nbsp;<br \/>\n18:22 &lsquo;Let them judge the people at all times; and let it be that every major dispute they will bring<br \/>\nto you, but every minor dispute they themselves will judge.
