{"id":1149,"date":"2011-01-24T12:52:00","date_gmt":"2011-01-24T12:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matsati.com\/bblog2\/client\/index.cfm\/2011\/1\/24\/Parashat-Mishpatim-Selling-ourselves-into-slavery-by-the-work-of-sin"},"modified":"2012-09-29T16:18:45","modified_gmt":"2012-09-29T16:18:45","slug":"parashat-mishpatim-selling-ourselves-into-slavery-by-the-work-of-sin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/parashat-mishpatim-selling-ourselves-into-slavery-by-the-work-of-sin\/","title":{"rendered":"Parashat Mishpatim, Selling ourselves into slavery by the work of sin."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<!-- Place some text here to wrap near image --><\/p>\n<p>This week&rsquo;s reading, <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><br \/>\n<em>Shemot \/ Exodus 21:3-22:3<\/em><\/font>, discusses how a man is to treat his slaves if he is a slave<br \/>\nowner.<font>&nbsp; <\/font>The Scriptures detail selling one&rsquo;s self, selling one&rsquo;s daughter,<br \/>\nand treating slaves fairly.<font>&nbsp; <\/font><font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Shemot \/ Exodus<\/em><\/font><br \/>\nstates that <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>21:7 &lsquo;If a man sells his daughter as a female slave, she is not to go free as the male slaves do. &nbsp;21:8 &lsquo;If she is displeasing in the eyes of her master who designated her for himself, then he shall let her be redeemed.
