(NASB)<\/em><\/font> &nbsp;In the Torah, the five major korbanot<br \/>\n(offerings) are described as being &ldquo;most holy&rdquo; as we see here in <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><br \/>\n<em>Vayikra \/ Leviticus 7:1<\/em><\/font> and the detailing of the guilt offering.&nbsp;<br \/>\nThere are two major components of the guilt offering, (i) slaying of the animal taking its<br \/>\nblood and sprinkling it upon the altar (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>7:2<\/em><\/font>)<br \/>\nand (ii) offering all its fat upon the altar, including the fat on the tail, the fat that<br \/>\ncovers the entrails (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>7:3<\/em><\/font>) and the fat that is<br \/>\nupon the kidneys and the liver.&nbsp; It is interesting that in Hebrew the word for &ldquo;fat&rdquo;<br \/>\nis <strong>khelev<\/strong> meaning &ldquo;fat, grease, fatness&rdquo; whereas the Hebrew bible<br \/>\nuses kh-l-v &ldquo;khelev&rdquo; meaning &ldquo; tallow, fat, lard;&rdquo; in addition to this,<br \/>\nthe Hebrew root of khelev also means &ldquo;milk.&rdquo;&nbsp; What is the significance of the<br \/>\ncommandment to offer the fat upon the altar?&nbsp; Why is the Hebrew word khelev used for &ldquo;fat&rdquo;<br \/>\ncommanded to be offered upon the altar above the other types of meat in the body?&nbsp; Could<br \/>\nit be that &ldquo;fat&rdquo; has a certain spiritual significance that is important for our lives?&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.matsati.com\/2010-2011\/Parashat%20Tzav%20_2010-2011_.pdf\">Read More here.<\/a> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vayikra \/ Leviticus 7:1 &#8216;Now this is the law of the guilt<br \/>\noffering; it is most holy.
