{"id":1096,"date":"2011-12-18T15:47:00","date_gmt":"2011-12-18T15:47:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matsati.com\/bblog2\/client\/index.cfm\/2011\/12\/18\/Parashat-Miketz-El-Shaddai---the-All-Sufficient-God"},"modified":"2018-08-24T13:08:06","modified_gmt":"2018-08-24T13:08:06","slug":"parashat-miketz-el-shaddai-the-all-sufficient-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/parashat-miketz-el-shaddai-the-all-sufficient-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Parashat Miketz, El Shaddai (\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05e9\u05c1\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05b7\u05d9) the All Sufficient God!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- Place some text here to wrap near image --><\/p>\n<p>In this week\u2019s study, Parashat Miketz (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bereshit \/ Genesis 41:1-44:17<\/em><\/span>), Pharaoh has two dreams that deeply disturb him and he seeks a man who can interpret his dreams (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>41:1-13<\/em><\/span>).\u00a0 Pharaoh calls for Yoseph (Joseph) and asks him to interpret the dream.\u00a0 Yoseph replies <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d5\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b7\u05e2\u05b7\u05df \u05d9\u05d5\u05b9\u05e1\u05b5\u05e3 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05e4\u05bc\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05e2\u05b9\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b5\u05d0\u05de\u05b9\u05e8 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b4\u05dc\u05b0\u05e2\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05d9 \u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d9\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05e0\u05b6\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05dc\u05d5\u05b9\u05dd \u05e4\u05bc\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05e2\u05b9\u05d4<\/em><\/span> saying <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u201cIt is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.\u201d<\/em>\u00a0<\/span> Note here that Yoseph says that only God can give an answer of Shalom (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05dc\u05d5\u05b9\u05dd<\/em><\/span>, peace) and then Yoseph gives Pharaoh the interpretation from God (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>41:16-38<\/em><\/span>).\u00a0 As a result, Pharaoh places all the power of Mitzrayim (Egypt) into Yoseph\u2019s hands (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>41:39-46<\/em><\/span>).\u00a0 The seven years of plenty come and Yoseph stores away the grain (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>41:46-53<\/em><\/span>) then the seven years of famine comes and everyone buys food from Yoseph (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>41:54-42:6<\/em><\/span>) including his brothers.\u00a0 Yoseph recognizes his brothers and tests them and accuses them of being spies (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>42:7-15<\/em><\/span>) and places them in jail for 3 days.\u00a0 Yoseph keeps Simeon and allows the other brothers to return home to fetch their brother Benjamin (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>42:16-38<\/em><\/span>).\u00a0 This week\u2019s Parashah ends with the brothers returning to Mitzrayim with Benjamin, they speak to Yoseph and retrieve their brother Simeon, have dinner, and begin making their journey back home with more grain (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>43:1-34<\/em><\/span>).\u00a0 Yoseph tricks them placing his silver cup in Benjamin\u2019s sack of grain (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>44:1-17<\/em><\/span>).\u00a0 When the brothers returned to bring their brother Benjamin to Mitzrayim they grieved their father Yisrael (Yaakov) and Yaakov prays to the God of his father Yitzchak (Isaac) and Avraham.\u00a0 As Yisrael sends his children back to Mitzrayim (Egypt) he prays for his children saying <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05e9\u05c1\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05b7\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b4\u05ea\u05bc\u05b5\u05df \u05dc\u05b8\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05e8\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05dc\u05b4\u05e4\u05b0\u05e0\u05b5\u05d9 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d5\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05dc\u05bc\u05b7\u05d7 \u05dc\u05b8\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d0\u05b2\u05d7\u05b4\u05d9\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05d0\u05b7\u05d7\u05b5\u05e8 \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d1\u05bc\u05b4\u05e0\u05b0\u05d9\u05b8\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05df \u05d5\u05b7\u05d0\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 \u05db\u05bc\u05b7\u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05db\u05b9\u05dc\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05db\u05b8\u05dc\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9<\/span> calling upon the name of God as \u201cEl Shaddai\u201d (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05e9\u05c1\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05b7\u05d9<\/span>) recognizing the all sufficiency of God.\u00a0 Today, do we recognize God as <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05e9\u05c1\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05b7\u05d9<\/span> in our lives like we should?
