{"id":1074,"date":"2012-05-20T10:41:00","date_gmt":"2012-05-20T10:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.matsati.com\/bblog2\/client\/index.cfm\/2012\/5\/20\/Parashat-Bamidbar-What-do-these-have-in-common-Cohen-Priest-Husband-and-Messiah"},"modified":"2012-09-29T16:23:19","modified_gmt":"2012-09-29T16:23:19","slug":"parashat-bamidbar-what-do-these-have-in-common-cohen-priest-husband-and-messiah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.matsati.com\/index.php\/parashat-bamidbar-what-do-these-have-in-common-cohen-priest-husband-and-messiah\/","title":{"rendered":"Parashat Bamidbar, What do these have in common: Cohen (Priest), Husband, and Messiah?."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t<!-- Place some text here to wrap near image --><\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s study is from Parashat Bamidbar (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bamidbar \/ Numbers 1:1-4:20<\/em><\/span>), the Lord God speaks to Moshe in the Tent of Meeting (Ohel Moed, <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05d0\u05b9\u05d4\u05b6\u05dc \u05de\u05d5\u05b9\u05e2\u05b5\u05d3<\/em><\/span>) saying &nbsp;<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d1&nbsp;&nbsp; \u05e9\u05b0\u05b9\u05d0\u05d5\u05bc \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05e8\u05b9\u05d0\u05e9\u05c1 \u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc-\u05e2\u05b2\u05d3\u05b7\u05ea \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05e0\u05b5\u05d9-\u05d9\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05dc\u05b0\u05de\u05b4\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b0\u05d7\u05b9\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd \u05dc\u05b0\u05d1\u05b5\u05d9\u05ea \u05d0\u05b2\u05d1\u05b9\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05de\u05b4\u05e1\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b7\u05e8 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b5\u05de\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea \u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d6\u05b8\u05db\u05b8\u05e8 \u05dc\u05b0\u05d2\u05bb\u05dc\u05b0\u05d2\u05bc\u05b0\u05dc\u05b9\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd:<\/em><em> <\/em>&nbsp;<em>1:2 &lsquo;Take a census of all the congregation of the sons of Israel, by their families, by their fathers&#8217; households, according to the number of names, every male, head by head. (NASB)<\/em><\/span> &nbsp;The men who are to be numbered are those who are able to go to war, twenty years and older.&nbsp; Moshe then proceeds to take a census of the people from each tribe, the number of men who are able to go to war from each tribe is given in <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bamidbar 1:4-46<\/em><\/span>.&nbsp; The Levites however were not numbered among them because they are given to the service of the Lord in the Mishkhan (Tabernacle) (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>1:47-50<\/em><\/span>).&nbsp; The scriptures state that the Levites will camp around the Mishkhan so that there will be no wrath on the congregation of the sons of Yisrael (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>1:53<\/em><\/span>).&nbsp; The Torah then lists who will camp on the north, east, south, and west sides of the Mishkhan (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>2:1-34<\/em><\/span>).&nbsp; The generations of Aharon are given in <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bamidbar 3:1-4<\/em><\/span>.&nbsp; The Lord then commands that the Levites be brought before Aharon and declares <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d9\u05d2&nbsp;&nbsp; \u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05dc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05db\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05d9\u05d5\u05b9\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05db\u05bc\u05b9\u05ea\u05b4\u05d9 \u05db\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05db\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05d0\u05b6\u05e8\u05b6\u05e5 \u05de\u05b4\u05e6\u05b0\u05e8\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05d4\u05b4\u05e7\u05b0\u05d3\u05bc\u05b7\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05dc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05db\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05db\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05d9\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05de\u05b5\u05d0\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05dd \u05e2\u05b7\u05d3-\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05d4\u05b5\u05de\u05b8\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b4\u05d4\u05b0\u05d9\u05d5\u05bc \u05d0\u05b2\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05b8\u05d4: <\/em>&nbsp;<em>3:13&lsquo;For all the firstborn are Mine; on the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I sanctified to Myself all the firstborn in Israel, from man to beast.
