(<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bamidbar \/ Numbers 4:21-7:89<\/em><\/font>) the Lord speaks to Moshe telling him to number the sons of Gershon and the fathers of their household by their families (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05db<\/em><em>\u05d1\u00a0\u00a0 \u05e0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b9\u05d0 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05e8\u05b9\u05d0\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05e0\u05b5\u05d9 \u05d2\u05b5\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05b9\u05df \u05d2\u05bc\u05b7\u05dd-\u05d4\u05b5\u05dd \u05dc\u05b0\u05d1\u05b5\u05d9\u05ea \u05d0\u05b2\u05d1\u05b9\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd \u05dc\u05b0\u05de\u05b4\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b0\u05d7\u05b9\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd:<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 It is interesting that the title of this week&rsquo;s Parashah and the command to number the people is described by this Hebrew word <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05e0\u05b8\u05e9\u05b9\u05d0<\/em> <\/font>which comes from the root word <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05dc\u05e9\u05d0\u05ea<\/em> <\/font>meaning <em>&ldquo;<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">to carry, lift, bear, endure, or suffer&rdquo;<\/font><\/em> but is translated as <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>&ldquo;number&rdquo;<\/em> <\/font>the people.\u00a0 According to these Scriptures, numbering the people is connected to lifting, bearing, enduring, and suffering.\u00a0 Moshe obeys the Lord and numbers the Gershonites (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d4\u05b7\u05d2\u05bc\u05b5\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05bb\u05e0\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9<\/em><\/font>) and details the duties of the sons of Levi in their work in carrying the Mishkhan (Tabernacle) in its construction and deconstruction (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>4:21-49<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 The Lord then tells Moshe to command the people to send away the person who is unclean, the one with Tzaraat (Leper) and every person having a discharge of the skin (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>5:1-4<\/em><\/font>) everyone who is unclean so the camp is not defiled.\u00a0 The Lord commands when a person sins he is to make restitution by confessing their sin and then adding one-fifth to the wrong and giving it to the person that he has wronged.\u00a0 In <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bamidbar \/ Numbers 5:6-8<\/em><\/font> it says <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d5\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d3\u05bc\u05b7\u05d1\u05bc\u05b5\u05e8 \u05d0\u05b6\u05dc-\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05e0\u05b5\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d0\u05d5\u05b9-\u05d0\u05b4\u05e9\u05bc\u05c1\u05b8\u05d4 \u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b7\u05e2\u05b2\u05e9\u05b9\u05d5\u05bc \u05de\u05b4\u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d7\u05b7\u05d8\u05bc\u05b9\u05d0\u05ea \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05dd \u05dc\u05b4\u05de\u05b0\u05e2\u05b9\u05dc \u05de\u05b7\u05e2\u05b7\u05dc \u05d4\u05b7\u05d4\u05b4\u05d5\u05d0: \u05d6\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d5\u05b0\u05d4\u05b4\u05ea\u05b0\u05d5\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d7\u05b7\u05d8\u05bc\u05b8\u05d0\u05ea\u05b8\u05dd \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05e2\u05b8\u05e9\u05b9\u05d5\u05bc \u05d5\u05b0\u05d4\u05b5\u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d9\u05d1 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05de\u05d5\u05b9 \u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05e8\u05b9\u05d0\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05b9 \u05dc\u05b8\u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d2\u05bc\u05b9\u05d0\u05b5\u05dc \u05dc\u05b0\u05d4\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d9\u05d1 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05dd \u05d0\u05b5\u05dc\u05b8\u05d9\u05d5 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05de\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc\u05e9\u05c1\u05b8\u05d1 \u05dc\u05b7\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05b8\u05d4 \u05dc\u05b7\u05db\u05bc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b5\u05df \u05de\u05b4\u05dc\u05bc\u05b0\u05d1\u05b7\u05d3 \u05d0\u05b5\u05d9\u05dc \u05d4\u05b7\u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u05e4\u05bc\u05bb\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d9\u05b0\u05db\u05b7\u05e4\u05bc\u05b6\u05e8-\u05d1\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9 \u05e2\u05b8\u05dc\u05b8\u05d9\u05d5:<\/em> <em>5:6 &lsquo;Speak to the sons of Israel, &#8216;When a man or woman commits any of the sins of mankind, acting unfaithfully against the Lord, and that person is guilty, 5:7 then he shall confess his sins which he has committed, and he shall make restitution in full for his wrong and add to it one-fifth of it, and give it to him whom he has wronged.\u00a0 5:8 &#8216;But if the man has no relative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution which is made for the wrong must go to the Lord for the priest, besides the ram of atonement, by which atonement is made for him. (NASB)<\/em><em> <\/em><\/font>\u00a0It is interesting here it says that if a man sins against another man, the man has also sinned against God (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05de\u05b4\u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05dc-\u05d7\u05b7\u05d8\u05bc\u05b9\u05d0\u05ea \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05d3\u05b8\u05dd \u05dc\u05b4\u05de\u05b0\u05e2\u05b9\u05dc \u05de\u05b7\u05e2\u05b7\u05dc \u05d1\u05bc\u05b7\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b8\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05de\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d4\u05b7\u05e0\u05bc\u05b6\u05e4\u05b6\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d4\u05b4\u05d5\u05d0:<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 The scriptures then describe what to do if a man&rsquo;s wife is unfaithful, how to test her faithfulness before the Lord (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>5:12<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 The unfaithfuil wife is brought to the temple, and if she has not defiled herself, a grain offering is made of one-tenth of an ephah of barley meal (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>5:13-15<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 However, no oil or frankincense is to be put on the grain because it is an offering of jealousy (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05d8\u05d5\u00a0\u00a0 \u05d5\u05b0\u05d4\u05b5\u05d1\u05b4\u05d9\u05d0 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b4\u05d9\u05e9\u05c1 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d0\u05b4\u05e9\u05c1\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9 \u05d0\u05b6\u05dc-\u05d4\u05b7\u05db\u05bc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b5\u05df \u05d5\u05b0\u05d4\u05b5\u05d1\u05b4\u05d9\u05d0 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05e7\u05b8\u05e8\u05b0\u05d1\u05bc\u05b8\u05e0\u05b8\u05d4\u05bc \u05e2\u05b8\u05dc\u05b6\u05d9\u05d4\u05b8 \u05e2\u05b2\u05e9\u05b4\u05b9\u05d9\u05e8\u05b4\u05ea \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b5\u05d9\u05e4\u05b8\u05d4 \u05e7\u05b6\u05de\u05b7\u05d7 \u05e9\u05b0\u05b9\u05e2\u05b9\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05dc\u05b9\u05d0-\u05d9\u05b4\u05e6\u05b9\u05e7 \u05e2\u05b8\u05dc\u05b8\u05d9\u05d5 \u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05de\u05b6\u05df \u05d5\u05b0\u05dc\u05b9\u05d0-\u05d9\u05b4\u05ea\u05bc\u05b5\u05df \u05e2\u05b8\u05dc\u05b8\u05d9\u05d5 \u05dc\u05b0\u05d1\u05b9\u05e0\u05b8\u05d4 \u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9-\u05de\u05b4\u05e0\u05b0\u05d7\u05b7\u05ea \u05e7\u05b0\u05e0\u05b8\u05d0\u05b9\u05ea \u05d4\u05d5\u05bc\u05d0 \u05de\u05b4\u05e0\u05b0\u05d7\u05b7\u05ea \u05d6\u05b4\u05db\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05d5\u05b9\u05df \u05de\u05b7\u05d6\u05b0\u05db\u05bc\u05b6\u05e8\u05b6\u05ea \u05e2\u05b8\u05d5\u05b9\u05df:<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 The Cohen then has the woman stand before the Lord, takes holy water (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>\u05de\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd \u05e7\u05b0\u05d3\u05b9\u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd<\/em><\/font>) and places dust from the floor of the Mishkhan into the water (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>5:17<\/em><\/font>), places the grain offering of jealousy in her hands and makes her take an oath before God concerning her unfaithfulness.\u00a0 The Cohen then writes the oath of the curse on a scroll and washes off the ink from the scroll into the water, and causes the woman to drink the water (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>5:19-26<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 If the woman has defiled herself in unfaithfulness, the waters will make her barren unable to have children, if she was faithful then she will be able to bear children (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>5:27-29<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 The Scriptures continue in <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>Bamidbar \/ Numbers 6<\/em> <\/font>detailing the requirements of one who makes the vow of a Nazarite he or she is (i) not to drink wine, vinegar, strong drink or anything from the fruit of the vine, (ii) not to shave the head, and (iii) not to touch any dead thing (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>6:1-21<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 Following the Nazarite vow, the Lord tells Moshe to have Aharon bless the people with the Aharonic blessing (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>6:22-26<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 Moshe then constructs the Mishkhan and consecrates the Mishkhan (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>7:1-11<\/em><\/font>).\u00a0 Each tribe is to participate in the dedication of the Mishkhan;
