24:1-4<\/em><\/font>), (xii) Adultery (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>22:22<\/em><\/font>), (xiii) Fornication (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>22:23-29<\/em><\/font>), (xiv) Incest (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>22:30<\/em><\/font>), (xv) Damaged genitalia (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>23:1-3<\/em><\/font>), (xvi) Finances (Interest) (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>23:20-21<\/em><\/font>), (xvii) Stealing from Adonai by neglecting a vow (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>23:22<\/em><\/font>), (xviii) Stealing produce from your neighbor&rsquo;s field (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>23:25-26<\/em><\/font>), (xix) Levirate marriage and prohibition on remarrying a divorced wife who had remarried (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>24:4<\/em><\/font>), (xx) Punishment by flogging limited to 40 strokes (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>25:2-3<\/em><\/font>), and (xxi) Correct and fair weights of measure for merchants (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>25:14-16<\/em><\/font>).&nbsp; Throughout this week&rsquo;s Parashah, these mitzvot are written as prohibitions using the imperative conjugation, the most frequently used conjugation (4,288) found in the Tanach.&nbsp; These prohibitions are written using the negative particles <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05dc\u05d0 <\/font>and <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d0\u05dc <\/font>and the imperfect verb (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d9\u05b4\u05d4\u05b0\u05d9\u05b6\u05d4<\/font>).&nbsp; <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05dc\u05d0 <\/font>expresses a permanent prohibition and <font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d0\u05dc <\/font>expresses an immediate and specific prohibition.&nbsp; These prohibitions were necessary because the text says<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u05d5\u05b0\u05dc\u05b9\u05d0 \u05ea\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05d8\u05b4\u05d9\u05d0 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea-\u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05e8\u05b6\u05e5 \u05d0\u05b2\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e8 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b9\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b6\u05d9\u05da\u05b8 \u05e0\u05b9\u05ea\u05b5\u05df \u05dc\u05b0\u05da\u05b8 \u05e0\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05dc\u05b8\u05d4<\/font> meaning <em>&ldquo;<\/em><font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>not bring sin on the land which the Lord your God gives you as an inheritance&rdquo;<\/em><\/font> (<font style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><em>24:4<\/em><\/font>).&nbsp; As these scriptures state, having different weights and measures relates not only to commercial businesses but also for how we live our lives.&nbsp; Do you live humble and repentant before God on one day during the week, and the rest of the week take a different standard by how you live?&nbsp;
